Druhé největší město Portugalska a zároveň jeden z velice důležitých přístavů v době Zámořských objevů. My jsme sem přejely vlakem z Lisabonu a strávily zde 5 dní. Anička má pro Porto blízký vztah, protože zde bydlí její sestra, takže sem jezdí minimálně jednou za rok. Díky ní jsem se nemusela starat o to, kam půjdeme, co budeme dělat a kde si to nejvíce užijeme. Město je nádherné a osobně se mi více líbilo více než Lisabon. Přišlo mi čistší, sympatičtější a taky ne tolik přecpané turisty (přestože v Lisabonu jsme byly inkriminovanou skupinou taky). Člověk může jet na pláž a užít si den u Atlantiku, zajít si na čerstvě ulovenou rybu a nechat si ji ugrilovat přímo před očima na obřím grilu. Na místní pláži Matozinhos si třeba pronajmout surf a dát první lekci surfování (jako já). Stála jsem na prkně úplně poprvé a bylo to neskutečný! Kéž bych mohla surfovat každý den.
Dalším místem, kam by měl člověk zavítat, jsou vinné sklepy Portského vína (ano, Portské víno pochází odsud). Já si tohle uvědomila pár dní před odletem, haha.
V Londýně, Dublinu, Kodani si můžete pronajmout kolo. V Portu taky a my jsme si tím naprosto skvěle zpestřily poslední den v Portu. Jely jsme k místnímu majáku a celou cestu podél řeky Douro až k Atlantiku jsme se nasmály.
Zajímavost na závěr: věděli jste, že Václavské náměstí má v Portu dvojče? A na úplný závěr musím doporučit Gallery hostel, který má skvělou lokaci a atmosféru!
Co nás čekalo po Portu?Španělsko, kde stále jsme, ale o tom až zase příště.

Second largest city in Portugal and also one of the most important ports during Overseas discoveries. We moved here from Lisbon and spent here 5 days. Anička has a very close realtionship with Porto, because her sister lives here. She flies at least once a year to this city. Thanks to her I didn't have to worried about where to go, what to visit and where will we enjoy it. The city is beautiful and personally I liked it more than Lisabon. It felt more symphatic, cleaner and most importantly not so crowded with tourists (even though that we were on of them in Lisbon too).
You can go to the Matozinhos beach and spent the day by Atlantic ocean, have delicious fresh fishes made in front of you on huge grills in docks. One of the best things here is that you can rent a surf board and go surfing with local surfing school. I was standing on surf for the first time and it was incredibly amazing. I wish I could surf every day.
Another place where you should go in Porto are the wine cellars ( yes, Port wine comes from Porto) and do some wine tasting. I realized this just few days before we were there, haha.
In London, Dublin, Copenhagen you can borrow a bike. Porto makes no difference and we made our last day in Porto even better. We cycled by the Douro river to Atlantic ocean and we were laughing the whole time. You can see Porto' lighthouse(s) and had a wonderful view on the city and ocean at the same time.
Intersting fact: did you know that Wenceslav square (main square in Prague) has a twin in Porto?
And at the end I have to recommend Gallery hostel, which has great atmosphere and even better location!
What was waiting for us after Porto? Spain, where we still are, but about that next time.
