Løkken

Take a Czech to the seaside and first thing (s)he will do is going to the beach and make sure the sea is real. Because of living in country, which is not surrounded by sea, we Czechs don't take sea for granted and we might act a bit weird, when we finally make it to the seaside. This weekend we had a training camp with my team and as you may already guessed it, it was by the sea. The city Løkken is located on the west shore of Denmark and it is very touristy in the summer, but now it was pretty much dead. I love this kind a "raugh" beach...dunes, high, dry grass and seagulls.
Right now I am trying to cure all the sore muscles and recover after all the "kage" (cake) we (I) had. Danes have this great habbit of bringing food to the pool...apples, bananas and most importantly homemade cake!

Vemte čecha k moři a první co udělá bude, že poběží na pláž. Jelikož je Česká Republika vnitrozemský stát, tak nám nic jinýho než nadšenost "vidim moře vidim moře" nezbejvá. Tenhle víkend jsem jela spolu s týmem na soustředění do městečka Løkken, které leží na západním pobřeží Dánska. V létě je to tu prý přeplněné turisty, ale ted' to tu bylo liduprázné. Miluju tenhle typ pláží...duny, suchá, vysoká tráva a rackové.
Ale ted'ka léčim bolavý ramena a přeplněný břicho domácíma buchtama, které jsme snědli. Dánové mají super tradici v tom, že každý něco na soustředění přiveze...jablka, banány a (hlavně) domácí buchty. :D

first semester done

Minulý pátek jsme psali naši první a poslední zkoušku tohodle semestru (úplně vidím ty odsuzující pohledy co to je za školu, když maj jenom jednu zkoušku za semestr, ale každej obor to má úplně jinak, takže jestli by vás to zajímalo víc, tak dejte vědět a tohle je fakt dlouhá závorka, možná bych z toho měla udělat samotnou větu, ale mě se nechce). Tři hodiny nás dusili a pak už jen prázdniny! Už ted' vím, že jsem to do druhého semestru úspěšně zvládla, ale na známky si ještě počkáme.
O víkendu mě čekaly první závody letošního roku a zároveň první pořádné závody v Dánsku. Na "Regionsmesterskaberne" v Aabybro se plavalo nad očekávání. Opravdu nekecám, když řeknu, že jsem překvapila sama sebe, ale nechci se tu nějak vychloubat to ne, prostě časy na jednotlivejch disciplínách moc potěšily a jako krásný plus jsem si odvezla i pár medailí. Na štafetách jsme si to s holkama Asta, Nete a Ghita (nevim, jestli to má smysl skloňovat nebo ne, protože se ty jména stejně řeknou úplně jinak než se píšou) pořádně užily a dokázaly, že ještě nepatříme do starýho železa. #girlpower

A na závěr jen dodám, že od úterý jsem opět v milované Praze, protože: doktoři, lyžování, prázdniny... :)

Last Friday was all about the final/first exam (I can see those judgy eyes "what school it is that they have one exam per semester" well every study programme has it differently and if you want to know more then let me know and this is becoming a very long bracket, so it could be a whole new sentence, but I don't want to, I like brackets). Three hours of roasting above our computers and than "hello holidays"! I already know that I passed to the next semester, but we'll get our grades later this week.
This weekend took place a first swimming competition of the year and also my first proper competitions in Denmark. The "Regionsmesterskaberne" in Aabybro ended up so much better than I expected! I'm not lying when I say that I really surprised myself, but I don't want show off or anything, it's just that the times from each and every discipline were pretty good and the fact that I brought couple medals home is just nice reward for my ego. We showed everyone with Asta, Nete & Ghita that we are not old and we still can win the relay. #girlpower

And to finish this blogpost I'll just say that I'm back in my beloved Prague, because doctors, skiing, holidays etc...

underwater series #1

Nevěděla jsem moc, co nového bych na blog napsala a docela náhodou jsem tento týden měla u sebe GoPro, tak jsem se rozhodla vyfotit všechny 3 (ano, tři) bazény, na kterých trénuju a trávím čas s mýma dánskýma kamarádama. Jenom pro úvod ještě řeknu pro porovnání, že v Aalborgu máme 6 bazénů a to se jedná o  130 tisícové město, takže něco mezi Plzní a Libercem.
Oddíl, ve kterém trénuju si říká "Aalborg svømmeklub" (jak logické) a je to jeden z nejlepších klubů v Dánsku. Nejeden plavec z elitního týmu je olympijským účastníkem či vítězem Světového poháru, takže asi tak. Já jsem šťastná, že můžu být jeho součástí. Naše tréninková skupina je skvělá, ikdyž jim občas vůbec nerozumím (ale už se v tý dánštině lepším ;) ) a na tréninku ze sebe vždycky vydám všechno, tak  doufám, že se to brzy na závodech promítne, které mám na začátku prosince ještě než poletím na Vánoce domů.

P.S.: nikdy mě nepřestane bavit, když má někdo narozeniny a přinese nějakou sladkost pro každého na bazén :)

I didn't know what new could I write on blog and by accident I had a GoPro with me all week, so I took couple of pictures of 3 (yes, 3) different pools where I train and spend time with my danish swimfriends (I just made up a word!). Just for an introduction I would like to mention for comparison that there are 6 swimming pools in city with just 130 000 residents, which is something between Pilsen and Reichenberg (cities in Czech Republic).
The club where I train call itself "Aalborg svømmeklub" (how simple is that?!) and it's one of the best swimming clubs in Denmark. You would find not just one Olympic Participant or World Cup winner in Aalborg swiming club. I am more than happy to be part of this club! My training group is amazing, even though I don't understand them sometimes (but I'm getting better in my Danish!) and I always give everything into training, so I hope I'll see the progress on competitions at the beginning of December just before I fly back home for Christmas.

P.S.: I will never get tired of sweets after training, when someone has birthday :)

Underwater series

You may or may not know, that I am quite obsessed with my GoPro camera. The reason why is very simple. The camera can take such an amazing photos and make great ( high quality ) videos. I finally figured out how to edit videos, so right now it is almost the only thing I do ( haha).

 I am showing you ( yes you, internet ) some new pics, which I took on Czech swimming championships, where I also competed. I did break some of my personal bests, but still it feels like I could do more. But for now it is finally christmas holidays. It's time to stop doing everything and just eat and sleep. I am going on a little ski vacation to Italy just me and myself. I cannot wait to be there! 

I would like to say, that I am so so much happy with my GoPro camera, which I have more than one year now! I think a lot of improvement had been done and I again found the passion for taking pictures and making videos. All together it makes one incredible story ( of life ).

How to be a swimming coach.

Miliony nekonečnejch přednášek a několik hodin praxí ve vodě. Překonání se abych neumřela nudou, protože všechno co bylo řečeno už člověk dávno věděl ( teda když už plavete desátym rokem). Ale holt jsme si to museli odsedět a úspěšně složit testy ze záchrany tonoucího a klasickej testík černý na bílým! Aneb zabila jsem dva víkendy pro to bejt už ofikl PLAVECKÝM TRENÉREM!

Billions of endless lectures and few hours of practice in water. Overcoming myself, because everything they said you already knew ( well when you swim almou ten years). But what we could do. We were in the lemure hall the whole time, than passed the test from saving of browning and the last but not least ( okay it was last ) the typical test on paper. AKA I killed two weekends to become an official SWIMMING COACH!

First swim outside.

Basically on Monday we had a first training outside! It was great, really. I love swimming outside, because you can breathe a proper fresh air and also get tan ( if the sun is shinning). I somehow knew, that we are gonna swim outside, so I bring my GoPro!

"Can you see the wall on the other side? That's where you have to swim!"

Awkward.

Just skip to the good bit. Last weekend I was taking part on international swim meeting called "Praha 2014". For me it was a very important swim meet and it was also very successful! I reached my personal best in every single race, which is absolutely AWESOME. I am happy, my coach is happy, my dad is happy, everyone is happy!
I really enjoyed it. I took so many photos on my GoPro, it's unbelievable! You will have to go through (almost) all of them. I still can't get enough, how great this camera is. It is indescribable!!!
